Ryann and Matt

Pebble Hill Plantation

It’s always fun to work with a bride who is incredibly joyful and excited about her marriage…and that was Ryann to a tee. She’s a Georgia girl who fell in love with a Florida boy, so Pebble Hill Plantation, located in the middle of their hometowns, was the perfect fit for their Southern-inspired fall celebration. Their engagement was not without hardship—Ryann’s mother, who actually introduced her and Matt, unexpectedly passed away a few months before the wedding. While she was deeply missed, her presence was felt throughout the day, especially through Ryann’s attire. A few short weeks before the wedding, Ryann began to doubt her dress choice, and decided to go look at a few ball gowns, the style her mother liked most. She fell in love with one and bought it, bringing both gowns with her on her wedding morning, just in case! In the end, the ball gown that she knew her mother would have loved was the winner, and its simple elegance ended up being a perfect fit against the lush backdrop of Pebble Hill Plantation.

One of Ryann and Matt’s favorite moments of their day was one of mine too—after the ceremony, they rode to their reception in a private horse and carriage. I love the photographs of them spending their first moments as newlyweds together in such a sweet way. Their first full day of marriage began with yet another unique mode of transportation when Matt, a pilot, flew them off to their honeymoon!

Ryann and Matt, thank you for inviting me to be a part of your wedding celebration. May your marriage be filled with love and adventure!

“Davy was such a joy to work with!! He is so friendly, personable, and easy to talk to. He made everyone feel at ease and comfortable, especially me… which was so nice during such a crazy day! He went above and beyond and the pictures are breathtaking!! I can’t tell you how many compliments we’ve gotten from friends and family and we will cherish these pictures for a lifetime. I’m so blessed we were able to work with Davy! I would recommend him over and over again! Thanks again Davy, from the bottom of our hearts! You captured our dream come true perfectly. :)” – Ryann (Bride)

Kristen and Grant

Old Edwards Inn, Highlands NC

Kristen and Grant’s day was such a lovely display of fine southern hospitality conjoined with the tender moments that love brings to a bride and groom! The Half Mile Farm at Old Edwards Inn provided a naturally elegant foundation for this lovely summer day, and the eye-grabbing arrangements of floral spreads, table settings, and hand-written paper goods were a lovely accent. It was an absolute pleasure to work with some talented vendors, and a unique blessing to have my gifted wife Lydia design and craft the paper suite. Thank you to our friends at Southern Weddings Magazine for the feature! See more here.
