Baxter and John

Georgetown, SC

This past summer, in the charming coastal town of Georgetown, South Carolina, a team of vendors came together from across the country to bring Baxter and John’s incredible wedding day vision to life. Every event that Neillie Butler of Mariée Ami plans is exquisitely detailed and undeniably hospitable, and this celebration was certainly no exception.

While Baxter and John’s elegant style would have fit right in in many cities across the South, Baxter’s beloved home church made the decision of where to tie the knot an easy one. She grew up attending Prince George Winyah Episcopal Church and has many childhood memories of sitting in the box pews in her Sunday best. This time, it was her family and friends who filled those pews as they watched her walk down the aisle to John, who proudly wore his Marine dress blues. After the ceremony, I pulled them aside for a few portraits before they greeted their loved ones, and in those moments, their joy and love for one another was palpable. You can feel it in those images!

The newlyweds and their bridal party hopped on a boat post-ceremony and toasted as they pulled up to Hobcaw Barony for the reception. I could hardly wait to see the magic the Mariée Ami team had created, and I know Baxter and John felt the same way. Blossoms Events installed a breathtaking ombré floral wall at the entrance of the tent, and everyone was all too happy to enjoy cocktail hour outside so they could admire it! As the sun set over the water, everyone headed inside and then spent the magical evening dining on Southern cuisine and dancing to a live band.

From beginning to end, it was a privilege to be a part of the team that served Baxter and John throughout their engagement and on their wedding day. I’m honored and excited to share the culmination of their joyful wedding weekend with you!

“Davy exceeded all photography expectations we had for our wedding! Not only is he extremely talented, but he was also such a pleasure to work with. We were completely blown away by all the special moments he captured, and he made the whole process effortless and enjoyable. Thanks to Davy, we will have these photographs to relive the best day of our lives forever!” – Baxter, the bride
